FPL GW8 Differentials: 5 Picks Under 5% Owned

Best FPL differentials for Gameweek 8: the Demon's low-owned picks

Everyone in your mini-league has Haaland. Most have João Pedro. That's how you stay level. This is how you climb: five players under 5% owned, all playing this weekend with the numbers to back them. Two of them cost £4.5m, and one is owned by fewer than one in 200 managers.

1. Alex Iwobi (Fulham, MID, £5.4m)

Alex Iwobi

Coventry (A). Owned by just 1.2%. Projected 4.7 points.

The highest projected player under 5% owned this week. Iwobi is Fulham's creator: 2.34 expected assists, more than any other player in this piece, and somehow not a single actual assist yet. That doesn't last forever.

He's still found a way to score points without them: 29 so far, with a goal, four clean sheets and six bonus points, and his recent form is strong. He takes Fulham's free kicks and corners, and the Demon expects 83 minutes on Saturday.

Demon's Verdict: The best one-week differential in the game. Just know Fulham go to Villa next, then host Newcastle and visit City, so this is a punt, not a long-term hold.

2. Kristoffer Ajer (Brentford, DEF, £4.5m)

Kristoffer Ajer

Hull City (A). Owned by 4.1%. Projected 4.3 points.

The perfect bench-to-starter defender. He's played every single minute (630 out of 630), and his 72 defensive contributions mean he banks points even when Brentford concede. A goal and two clean sheets on top.

Hull away gives Brentford a 34% chance of a clean sheet, and Forest at home comes next. For £4.5m, that's two decent weeks from a player who never comes off.

Demon's Verdict: Cheap, nailed and safe. The easiest differential in this piece to fit into any team.

3. Pedro Neto (Chelsea, MID, £6.5m)

Pedro Neto

Spurs (H). Owned by 2.9%. Projected 4.3 points.

Nobody on this list is hotter. Neto's form rating is 10.0, the best of any player here. He has three goals, an assist and three bonus points this season, and he's already made the Dream Team once.

Spurs at home in a London derby is a big stage. The worry is minutes: the Demon only expects 72, so there's a real chance he's hooked on the hour. If he starts, he's a serious threat.

Demon's Verdict: The form differential. You get Chelsea's best fixture for less than 3% ownership, as long as he's in the XI.

4. James Justin (Leeds, DEF, £4.5m)

James Justin

Sunderland (A). Owned by 2.1%. Projected 4.2 points.

Justin quietly has 34 points already: a goal, two clean sheets, four bonus points and 56 defensive contributions. He's started every game, and the Demon has him playing 88 minutes on Sunday.

Sunderland away gives Leeds a 33% clean-sheet chance, one of their better odds of the next five weeks. Coventry at home in GW12 is the other one to circle.

Demon's Verdict: Another £4.5m defender who earns his place. If you need a cheap fifth defender who actually plays, this is him.

5. Jack Rudoni (Coventry, MID, £4.9m)

Jack Rudoni

Fulham (H). Owned by just 0.4%. Projected 3.6 points.

The wildcard pick, and the Demon's favourite story of the week. Rudoni is first on Coventry's penalties and their direct free kicks. He scored the opening penalty in the 4-1 win over Newcastle, Coventry's first home Premier League win in over two decades, then scored again at Spurs a week later. Goals in back-to-back gameweeks, for £4.9m.

He's got 3.01 expected goal involvements already, and the fixtures are kind: Fulham at home, Sunderland at home, then Palace at home in GW11.

One thing to know: Rudoni and Iwobi are in the same game. If you own both, you're backing both sides at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Demon's Verdict: Fewer than one in 200 managers own him. A penalty taker in form, at home, for under £5m. If he scores again, you gain on almost everyone.

Conclusion

Iwobi is the strongest one-week pick: the highest projection under 5% and a creator who's overdue an assist. Ajer and Justin are the cheap, nailed defenders, so take your pick by fixture. Neto is the form gamble if he starts. And if you want the boldest move in the game this week, Rudoni at 0.4% owned and on penalties is it.
