FPL GW7 Sunday Review: The Talking Points From Every Game
19 October 2026
FPL Demon

Missed Sunday's action? Don't worry, the Demon was watching.
Four games, nine goals, a goal from the halfway line, a red card inside 17 minutes and an Arsenal win built on one shot on target. Here's who's a buy, who's a sell and who's one to watch.
Bournemouth 2-0 Sunderland

Bournemouth's first league win of the season, and it was done inside 17 minutes. One goal up after six, and Sunderland down to ten men 11 minutes later. Sunderland have now lost four in a row.
Evanilson: Man of the match. Laid on the opener, got Danso sent off for bringing him down when he was through on goal, then pinched a lazy back-pass, rounded the keeper and rolled it into an empty net. 12 points and maximum bonus at £6.1m, owned by just 4.2%. Over 1.1 xG on top of that, and he's now returned in five of his seven games. A buy.
Tavernier: Headed in from close range after six minutes. 10 points and nearly 1.2 xG, the most of anyone on the pitch. At £6.2m he's quietly one of the better mid-price midfielders around.
Silva and Hill: Clean sheet for both, with Silva also hitting his defensive contribution bonus for 8 points. Smith had 0.54 xG from right-back, which is more than most strikers manage. Sunderland had ten men for 70 minutes, so don't read too much into it.
Danso: Straight red and suspended until 31 October. Brobbey missed out with a hamstring problem and is 75% to play.
Demon's Verdict
Evanilson is the pick. Bournemouth's next four are Man Utd away, Leeds at home, Ipswich away and Forest at home. Nothing scary there. If you want a cheap forward with fixtures, he's your man.
Brighton 5-0 Crystal Palace

Three goals in ten minutes and the derby was over. An own goal from Groß's cross, a Gómez strike from the halfway line and Ayari's finish, all before most fans had sat down. Palace hit the woodwork twice after the break, but that's as close as they came.
Ayari: 13 points, the top score on Sunday. Owned by 0.5% at £5.4m. A goal, an assist and 2 bonus points. Lovely day, but I'd want to see it again before buying.
Kostoulas: Scored three minutes into the second half, survived a VAR check for handball and set one up too. 12 points and maximum bonus. He's owned by 9.6% and has 41 points already. Brighton's main striker and it shows.
Vuskovic and Boscagli: The defensive heroes. Vuskovic had an assist, a clean sheet and his defensive contribution bonus for 11 points. Boscagli added an assist for 10 at £4.5m.
Groß and De Cuyper: The two most popular Brighton picks, and they both did their job. Groß set up the opener for 5 points, De Cuyper collected a clean sheet for 6. Fine, not spectacular.
Mateta: Hit the bar off the bench. Palace scored nothing and created little. Mitchell blanked in a 5-0 defeat, and 5.7% of you own him.
Demon's Verdict
Now the bad news. Brighton go to Liverpool next, then Man City. Two weeks don't get much harder than that. Keep Groß and De Cuyper if you have them, but don't buy Brighton players this week, whatever the score says. Look again from GW10, when Brentford and Hull come up.
Palace are in a mess, but their fixtures turn from GW11: Coventry away, then Hull at home. Not yet.
Leeds 1-1 Man Utd

Leeds had more of the ball and more of the play. United took the lead, then faded. That's five league games without a win for United, and only one win from seven.
Calvert-Lewin: Equalised from close range after Muharemović nodded a corner down. 9 points and maximum bonus, owned by 23.1%. And look at Leeds' next five: Sunderland away, Bournemouth away, Spurs at home, Chelsea away, Coventry at home. That's a lovely run. Keep him, and he's a buy if you don't own him.
Mbeumo: Headed a free chance wide when unmarked, then scored eight minutes later, finishing Tielemans' low pass. 8 points. He's United's only real goal threat right now.
Fernandes: The big worry. Owned by 29.6% at £11.8m and he scored 1 point. Barely a sniff: 0.08 xG and 0.04 xA in 90 minutes. Since his 23-pointer in GW2, he's blanked five games in a row. United are playing without a real striker and the next four are Bournemouth at home, then Chelsea away, Villa at home and Liverpool away. At that price, he's a sell.
Martinez and Shaw: Martinez came off at half-time and is flagged with a thigh injury. Shaw didn't play and is also at 75%.
Demon's Verdict
Calvert-Lewin in, Fernandes out. That money gets you a lot more somewhere else. Mbeumo is the only United attacker I'd keep, and only because nobody else is getting into the box.
Nottingham Forest 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal had about 75% of the ball and one shot on target all afternoon. Luckily for them, it went in. Madueke came off the bench at half-time and his shot took a big deflection in the 80th minute. Forest drop into the bottom three.
Raya, Konsa and Rice: A clean sheet and 9 points each, with all three picking up maximum bonus. Konsa made a huge block on Delap in stoppage time to save it. Rice got the assist.
Gabriel: 8 points, a clean sheet and his defensive contribution bonus. He also had a set-piece effort cleared near the line, and 0.42 xG is a lot for a defender. The goal could easily have come too.
Calafiori: The most-owned player in the game at 53.6%, and he got his clean sheet. But he gifted Forest an early chance with a mistake. 6 points, no complaints.
Saka and Ødegaard: 3 points each. Saka had zero xG all game. Arsenal's attack was flat for the whole afternoon, not just them. But look at his last three games together: 1.5 expected goal involvements against Brighton, Leeds and Forest, and not a single return to show for it. He's been getting the chances, they just haven't gone in. Owning him is the right decision. The outcome has been bad.
Gibbs-White: Missed out with a muscle injury and is 75% to play. Owned by 11.6% and Forest need him.
Demon's Verdict
Keep your Arsenal defence. Everton at home is next, then Liverpool away and Hull at home. Keep Saka. Everton at home is exactly where the chances turn into points. Compare him with Fernandes: half the expected goal involvements over the same three games, so his blanks are deserved. Saka's aren't.
Forest go to Ipswich next, which is a chance to get going. Without Gibbs-White, I'm not convinced.
Sunday's Takeaways
Buy: Evanilson and Calvert-Lewin, both with good fixtures ahead. Keep: Saka, the chances are there. Watch: Kostoulas once Brighton's fixtures turn. Sell: Fernandes, and don't buy any Brighton players for the next two weeks.
And Saka owners? Same as Gonzalo owners on Saturday. The decision was right, the outcome wasn't. The devil isn't judging.
