Best Captains for Gameweek 6
10 October 2026
FPL Armo

In this article, we take a look at the best captain options for GW6 based on the eye test and underlying stats.
1. Erling Haaland
The clearest and safest captain choice for Gameweek 6. He returned from international duty a week early and has had a full rest.
Liverpool have kept three clean sheets in their last three league games, but those came against teams ranked 17th, 19th, and 11th, including a newly promoted side in Ipswich. Their defensive record is not as impressive as it looks.
Haaland also scored 3 goals in 4 games during the international break, which is a positive sign of his current form.
2. Bruno Fernandes
Our second option is Bruno Fernandes. Yes, neither Bruno nor Manchester United are in great form right now. But he remains the main man at the club.
He was unlucky not to return in the last game, hitting the post, and contributed 2 assists in 3 games during the international break.
United face a Tottenham side sitting 20th in the table. If any team is going to help this current United and Bruno side out of their poor run, it is probably Spurs.
3. Bukayo Saka
A popular option, and most likely my own captain for GW6.
Leeds have conceded 14 goals in their last 4 meetings with Arsenal. Not a great record. Saka had a solid international break with 2 goals in 3 games and was rested on the bench in the final match.
He also ranks 3rd in the entire league for xG. Sooner or later the returns will come, and a home game against Leeds looks like a good opportunity for the Starboy to deliver.
4. Pascal Groß
Sunderland are missing Diarra, Brobbey, Sadiki, Reinildo and Ballard for the game against Brighton.
If you are looking for a bit of risk, Brighton assets could be interesting. Just keep in mind that players like Groß have already overperformed expectations and blanks could start coming soon.
That said, Groß currently ranks 1st for chance creation and 3rd for big chances created. He is involved in most of Brighton's attacks and still has a decent chance of returning points.
5. Lewis Hall

This is a real differential. I have been saying since around GW2 that Lewis Hall offers good value for his price. He gets DEFCON, takes set-pieces and corners, and joins the attack.
Now he faces one of the newly promoted teams. The game against Coventry looks like a good opportunity for both a clean sheet and attacking returns.
Conclusion
Captaincy is a real puzzle this week. If you want the safest option, go with Haaland. Personally I am leaning towards captaining Saka, but we will have to wait and see how things develop.
Good luck.
