FPL goals conceded by position, GW2 to GW9

The Demon has been watching where the goals go in. This is FPL Armo's goals-conceded tracker from GW2 to GW7, now topped up with every goal from GW8 and GW9, sorted by the position of the player who scored it. Some defences have one gaping hole. Some leak from everywhere. Find your GW10 opponent, find the weak spot, and pick the player who's about to walk straight through it.

Arsenal

  • CAMâš½
  • CDM⚽⚽
  • STâš½
  • LBâš½

Five goals conceded all season, and none in their last two games. Even the ones that got through came from all over the pitch, so there's no soft spot to aim at. Hull have to go to the Emirates on Saturday. The Demon would rather captain a traffic cone than a Hull attacker this week.

Aston Villa

  • ST⚽⚽⚽
  • CB⚽⚽
  • CMâš½
  • CDMâš½
  • OGâš½

Haaland made it three goals from strikers. Villa go to Old Trafford on Sunday, and Mbeumo led United's line last time out. He's 20% owned and hasn't missed a minute. Two goals from centre-backs too, so Maguire at £4.6m is a sneaky one.

Bournemouth

  • ST⚽⚽⚽
  • LW⚽⚽⚽
  • RWâš½
  • CAMâš½
  • CM⚽⚽

Ten goals conceded, mostly to strikers and left wingers. But they haven't conceded at all in their last two games. Ipswich host them on Sunday. Bournemouth defenders, yes. Ipswich attackers, the Demon wouldn't.

Brentford

  • LW⚽⚽
  • ST⚽⚽⚽
  • CAMâš½
  • RWâš½

Strikers and left wingers keep finding a way in. Brighton host them, and Kostoulas leads the line. De Cuyper played on the left of the front three last week, and he's 45% owned for a reason.

Brighton

  • RBâš½
  • STâš½
  • OGâš½

Still one of the tightest defences around. Isak got one, and Brighton scored the other for him. Thiago is the striker heading their way, and he's first on Brentford's penalties.

Chelsea

  • ST⚽⚽⚽
  • CAM⚽⚽
  • RW⚽⚽⚽
  • LWâš½
  • OGâš½

Three from strikers, three from right wingers. Chelsea go to Sunderland, the bottom side in the league, and Brobbey is the striker Sunderland will look to. The Demon isn't buying Sunderland shares.

Coventry

  • ST⚽⚽⚽
  • CDMâš½
  • CAM⚽⚽⚽
  • CB⚽⚽
  • LBâš½
  • RWâš½

Eleven goals, mostly through the middle: three to strikers, three to No. 10s. They go to Everton on Friday night. Barry is first on Everton's penalties, and Dewsbury-Hall has started all nine games. Both kick off before anyone else.

Crystal Palace

  • CAM⚽⚽⚽
  • LW⚽⚽
  • ST⚽⚽⚽⚽
  • LBâš½
  • RWâš½
  • CDMâš½
  • RBâš½
  • CBâš½

Fourteen goals from eight different positions. This defence is a colander. Four of them came from strikers, and Liverpool come to Selhurst on Sunday with Isak on six goals already. Palace are also without Mateta, suspended until December.

Everton

  • RW⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
  • STâš½
  • CB⚽⚽

Five goals from right wingers. Five! Then two of Arsenal's centre-backs scored against them in GW8. Coventry visit on Friday, and Sakamoto scored from the right wing last week. He's 0.1% owned and £4.8m, so he's a pure Demon punt.

Fulham

  • LB⚽⚽⚽
  • ST⚽⚽
  • RBâš½
  • CBâš½

Three goals from left-backs. That's a weird one, and it's still there. Newcastle visit on Saturday, and Lewis Hall has started all nine games for them, at left-back. He's 19.5% owned.

Hull City

  • LWâš½
  • CAM⚽⚽⚽⚽
  • ST⚽⚽
  • LBâš½
  • RWâš½
  • CDMâš½

Four goals from No. 10s, and midfielders keep turning up in their box. Now they go to Arsenal. Saka's injured, but Ødegaard and Rice are exactly the kind of midfielders Hull keep letting through.

Ipswich

  • ST⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
  • CAMâš½
  • LB⚽⚽
  • RBâš½
  • CMâš½

Seven goals to strikers. Seven. The biggest single weakness in the league. Bournemouth arrive on Sunday with Evanilson in the form of his season. If you were waiting for a sign, this is the sign.

Leeds

  • ST⚽⚽
  • CMâš½
  • LBâš½
  • LWâš½
  • CBâš½
  • RWâš½

Leeds leak from everywhere, a goal or two at a time. Spurs come next. Kudus has started on the right in both of their last two games, and he's under 2% owned.

Liverpool

  • LBâš½
  • LWâš½
  • ST⚽⚽
  • RWâš½

Barely anything gets through. And with Mateta suspended, Palace's attack hasn't got much to scare anyone with on Sunday. Leave Palace attackers alone.

Man City

  • CAM⚽⚽
  • ST⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽

Five of the seven goals they've conceded came from strikers. Nicolas Jackson scored two of them on his own in GW8. City go to the City Ground, and Delap leads Forest's line for £5.4m. He's a 1.5%-owned bit of chaos, if you like that sort of thing.

Man Utd

  • ST⚽⚽⚽⚽
  • LBâš½
  • LW⚽⚽⚽
  • RWâš½
  • CAMâš½

Five goals in the last two games alone, from both wings, through the middle and up top. The worst defence in the Premier League over the last fortnight, and the Demon is licking its lips. Villa visit on Sunday, and Nicolas Jackson has five goals already.

Newcastle

  • CAM⚽⚽
  • ST⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
  • CBâš½
  • LWâš½

Six goals from strikers, more than every other position put together. Give a centre-forward a sniff and he scores. Fulham host them, and Gonzalo has started all nine games up front for Fulham. He's 4.3% owned.

Nottingham Forest

  • RWâš½
  • CAM⚽⚽⚽
  • CDM⚽⚽
  • LBâš½
  • LWâš½
  • STâš½
  • OGâš½

Forget the strikers: only one has scored against them. Forest's problem is midfielders, with three goals from No. 10s and two from holding midfielders. City come to the City Ground on Saturday, and that's exactly where they've been lining up. Enzo Fernández played the No. 10 role last week and is 3.7% owned. Elliot Anderson sat in the double pivot and is 3.6% owned at £6.3m. That's a proper Demon punt. Haaland will still get his chances, but the differential is in midfield.

Sunderland

  • ST⚽⚽⚽
  • LW⚽⚽⚽⚽
  • LBâš½
  • CM⚽⚽⚽
  • CAM⚽⚽
  • RWâš½

Fourteen goals, and four of them from left wingers. Chelsea are coming to the Stadium of Light on Sunday, and Rogers played on the left last time out. He's 52.9% owned. Palmer played the No. 10 role and is first on Chelsea's penalties.

Tottenham

  • CAM⚽⚽
  • ST⚽⚽
  • LWâš½

Five goals conceded, and back-to-back clean sheets. The only thing that's hurt them is No. 10s and strikers, twice each. Leeds have to find a way through on Saturday lunchtime, and the Demon wouldn't bet on it. Spurs defenders are the play here, not Leeds attackers.

The Demon's GW10 hit list: Ipswich's striker problem for Evanilson, Palace's colander for Isak, Sunderland's left side for Rogers, Man Utd's leaky back line for Nicolas Jackson, and Forest's soft middle for Anderson and Enzo Fernández. Stay away from anyone playing Arsenal, Bournemouth or Spurs.

Stats cover goals conceded by the position of the scorer from GW2 to GW9. OG means own goal.
