Czechia and South Africa shared the points in Atlanta, and this was more useful for fantasy notes than fantasy fireworks.
Michal Sadílek (£5.4m) scored early, South Africa kept the ball for long spells, and Teboho Mokoena (£4.3m) eventually rescued it from the penalty spot.
Here are the Demon Notes from Czechia 1-1 South Africa: Mokoena's penalty, Schick frustration, South Africa control and what it means before MD3.

Demon Notes
- Mokoena (£4.3m) is the fantasy name here. He took the penalty, scored it, and ran the midfield. A cheap midfielder on penalties is always worth a look, especially when he is also creating chances.
- South Africa had 62% possession and 17 shots, so this was not just one lucky penalty. They grew into the game and pinned Czechia back for long spells.
- Czechia still had the better close-range chances. They had 11 shots inside the box and three big chances, which is why Schick (£7.3m) owners will feel annoyed. The service was there; the finish was not.
- Sadílek (£5.4m) took his goal well, but one early finish does not make him an automatic transfer. If you want Czechia, check the role and the Mexico fixture first.
- Krejčí (£4.8m) and Coufal (£4.5m) both had ways to attacking points. Krejčí was a set-piece box threat, Coufal kept putting balls in. Useful, but Czechia still need to show more control.
- For fantasy, this felt like a watchlist match rather than a buying match. Mokoena is the one who actually changed his case.
MD3 Fantasy Takeaway
South Africa face South Korea in MD3, while Czechia get Mexico. That matters. South Korea have stronger individual projections than South Africa, and Mexico are a much tougher fantasy opponent than this Czechia performance needed.
Mokoena (£4.3m) is still the South Africa name because of penalties, minutes and set pieces. Demon has him at 3.0 xPts for MD3, behind Appollis (£4.9m) at 3.7 and Foster (£5.4m) at 3.5, so he is not a must-buy. He is a cheap enabler if you need money, not a headline transfer.
Schick (£7.3m) gets Mexico next and sits at 4.4 MD3 xPts. That is playable if you already own him, but not exciting enough to chase after another frustrating return. Mexico defenders and Jiménez project better from that game.
Verdict: South Africa are watchlist only. Mokoena is useful because of role, not ceiling. Czechia are hard to buy into before Mexico unless you already own Schick and have bigger problems elsewhere.
